Description and Basic Information ::

Chula Vista Transit, National City Transit, San Diego County Transit, San Diego Transit, and the San Diego Trolley provide transit services in the metropolitan San Diego area.
The San Diego Trolley is an efficient means of traveling to and from the downtown waterfront, the Mexican border, Old Town, the eastern suburbs, Mission Valley and points north to Qualcomm Stadium. Trolley stops are easily recognizable by bright red shelter stops. One-way fares range from $1 to $2.25, with senior and disabled rider discounts available.
A prudent way to travel the city is by purchasing a special Day Tripper pass, which allows one-day ($5) or four-day ($12) unlimited access to Metropolitan Transit System buses and the San Diego Trolley. Passes are available at the Transit Store, 102 Broadway. To find out more about San Diego's public transportation system, check out the official website at http://www.sandag.cog.ca.us/sdmts/.
If you do decide to drive, tolls on the San Diego-Coronado Bridge are $1 for one-passenger vehicles entering Coronado and free to vehicles with two or more passengers entering, and all who are leaving. We recommend you do not attempt to pass into Coronado via the free lane if you are driving alone, many get caught and are levied a hefty fine. |
